The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's bout.
Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
